Why have a "flat" structure?

Hierarchies are going out of date.

While these structures seem essential to managing large groups of people, the word "hierarchy" itself carries a somewhat negative connotation today. Especially for Millennials who are becoming the central part of the workforce, hierarchy is something that should be deconstructed, and they prefer to work in a more flat, collaborative environment.

There seems to be an impression that Millennials and Gen Z are somehow “disrupting” the workplace with their modern views and freedom loving attitudes. However, every generation has had its impacts on society and change is inevitable. Perhaps it isn’t much that the new generations are disrupting the workplace, but just that the previous generations being reluctant to change.

What is the Future of Recruiting?

According to a LinkedIn Talent Solutions 2018 Global Recruiting Trends report hiring great talent is set to become much tougher in coming years. The report cites the emergence of high skill, high technology jobs, shrinking talent pools and increasing global competition.

In the report recruiting industry professionals identified the following trends as extremely important to the future of recruiting: 1) more diverse candidates (78%), new interviewing tools (56%), big data (50%) and artificial intelligence (35%).
